When I saw someone tag me in a post about the Goodreads awards the other day, I (for those of you who are familiar with Goodreads) thought it was just another one of the “lists” things. Then, scrolling through my emails, I found an email I received last week and never opened. It was from Goodreads, telling me I was nominated in two categories. Best Young Adult Fiction and Choice Author.
I clicked on the link, and about fell out of my chair when I realized it was for the freaking GOODREADS CHOICE AWARDS for 2012. I kept reading it and reading it to make sure what they were saying was right. Out of ALL book published this year, mine was one of only 16 chosen! And out of all the authors publishing those books, I’m one of only 16 authors chosen (along with the fabulous Tammara Webber.) How did this happen? A year ago today, I didn’t even have the idea for a book in my head. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a million times more: THANK YOU!
And the best part is, I’m in the same category as some of my faves. Tammara Webber, Nichole Chase, John Green, Rebecca Donovan, Abbi Glines. There are tons of great books to vote for, so go HERE and vote for your favorites of 2012. First round voting ends November 10th.

Well deserved! Its been a long time since a book has touched me as much as Slammed and Point Of Retreat have, they are butterflying brilliant! (and don’t forget you have forever coined a catch phrase too hehe)

Voting for Slammed was the easiest choice I’ve had to make all year. It was a given. I also read The Sea of Tranquility, and I loved it. While I wait (impatiently) for your next book, I’m reading your recommendations. You’re my new go-to person. Though I can’t claim to relate to the characters in any of the other books I’ve read as deeply as I did Will and Lake, through you, I’ve found new books and new authors almost as good. You, Colleen, are an absolutely amazing and inspiring woman!
