Working on my third and perhaps final installment of The Slammed Series, Will’s Story. In Point of Retreat, I asked poet Edmund Davis-Quinn if he would let me use one of his inspiring poems in the book. He allowed me to use the poem that gave me the kick-start I needed to finish POR. It’s called Write Poorly.
I’ve received a lot of emails and reviews where readers have responded with their own Slam Poems. LOVE THESE! I thought it would be great to give you poetry writers an opportunity to get a poem into the published version of Will’s Story. If you would like to submit your poem for consideration, send it to colleenhoover@msn.com If your poem is selected to appear in the novel, I’ll send you signed copies of all three books once the final installment is published. I’m not putting a deadline, because I hate deadlines. If you want to enter, just get it in as soon as you can. ;)
Happy Writing!
Oh, and subject matter is up to you. So long as it’s appropriate to the genre. ;) Meaning no Lucky Charms Porn themed poetry.
I’m so going to try for this Colleen!!
EEEEP! I’ve already received fifteen entries in the last three hours! This is going to be sooo fun.
Gosh Colleen…you have an impressive fan base!
That’s awesome. I am humbled to be in Point of Retreat.
I’ve just sent mine in- really the books were so inspiring! have never written poetry as a hobby before, but I loved the way the different characters used it as an outlet, awesome! I hope you like mine
I can change it any way you want!!!
Colleen – I hope you are ready – Prior to my review for your books I had never shared my poetry. Guess I was embarrassed and scared. My family was never open when it came to the arts, so I held it in (I got a lot of gasps when I told them that I posted a poem because they didn’t even know I could write!) Well, all the amazing feedback I have received from you as well as other readers has totally inspired me to continue sharing! I wrote A LOT when I was reading SLAMMED and POINT OF RETREAT so I am working on typing those up tonight and tomorrow and will send them over. I will keep my fingers crossed that something in my mess of words you like!
Thank you for giving this amazing opportunity out to others – you just keep on blowing me away with your crazy amazingness! (ok, we are both a bit crazed fan like now, so I will stop before I cross a line somewhere!)
lol. So excited to get them! I’m judging them all blind, so I won’t be reading them until the day I pick one, but I’m sooo excited you are submitting.
