Look what I got in the mail yesterday. Front side Avett, Backside Zac-y boy. This is totally going on my desk. How am I supposed to get any work done? Gitte, you freaking ROCK!!! (Love the caption below Zac’s photo. You crack me up!)
And now for a more serious subject. Husband took me to see “The lucky one” yesterday. (Haha. I outed you Heath Hoover!)
Anyway…I know I wrote books that were sort-of contemporary romances. When I finished Slammed my mom said she was shocked that the first book I wrote was a romance, since I’m not into that at all. I’ve never read a romance novel…not even The Notebook. So it kind of hurt my feelings that she thought it was a romance novel. lmao! I’m so clueless about genre it’s unreal.
***I would like to say there are no spoilers in this movie review. But the fact that I didn’t like it may be a spoiler enough to change your mind. So although I give nothing away, that in itself may be enough to stop you from wanting to see it…so if you want to see it don’t read any further and we’ll walk away pretending I loved it!***
Well I thought Zac was just perfect in the movie. However, I didn’t really like the movie. In fact, it grated my nerves so much that I was practically shifting in my seat, waiting for it to be over. In fact, In fact, I left a few minutes before the movie even ENDED. But you gotta understand, I’ve been known to do that from time to time. I don’t have a lot of movie theater patience.
I’m not trying to ruin the movie for anyone. Pretty much everyone else in the theater LOVED it. I guess it was a mixture of the female lead (thought she looked too old for the character) and the fact that I didn’t really like the plot. Now granted, I’ve never read the book so I’m sure the emotions and backstory run a lot deeper, It just didn’t carry over into the movie with me. But I will say that the female lead had a scene that made my heart stop. She’s a VERY good actress, just didn’t feel it between her and Zac.
I don’t know why I felt compelled to do a mini-movie review. I guess because I also feel compelled to tell the world that Zac in the shower is worth sitting through a nerve-grating movie.
Peace!

Nicholas Spark books are ALL like that. It’s all too over dramatized for me. Kinda like day time soaps. Nothing makes me more ill then those day time soaps:)
YAY…sorry did you say something??? Am still looking at the backside of that card…..I’m going to watch that movie on Weds with my bessie mate…shower scene…..got you!!!!
Seriously though…YOU ROCK!!!!!
WOW! I’m shocked, not that you didn’t like the movie but that you’ve never read a romance novel! I just finished reading “Slammed” & “Point of Retreat” which took all of 3 days for me to read both! Really? You NEVER read a romance novel? Well, your books just butterflying ROCK!!!
Thank you! So glad you liked them. And no, I’ve never read a romance novel. I don’t read a whole lot because once I start a book I can’t stop and nothing gets done. I did get on a Charlaine Harris kick last year though, and read every single one of her books in a month. Team Bill! No, wait. Team Eric! No, wait. *Pulls hair out!*
I hear ya! Team Eric, check! Team Bill, check!
I wasn’t too impressed either. Felt it was kinda “eh”. I went with my BF Haley and we both agreed the best part was staring at yummy Zach and the shower scene…HOT!
