Slammed, available now on amazon. (If you don’t order it, Nickelback will play at your funeral)

Slammed, by Colleen Hoover

After the unexpected death of her father, financial hardships force eighteen-year-old Layken Cohen and her family to move across the country, away from the only life she’s ever known. Her resentment soon fades and is replaced with a renewed sense of hope when she meets her new neighbor.

Will Cooper is everything but the expected. He introduces Layken to his passion for slam poetry, and through this passion, they discover how deep their connection really is.

But sometimes life gets in the way.

Layken is slammed to the core when she discovers that a relationship between her and Will won’t work.

 It can’t work.

And the move across the country? It was under false pretenses, and her mother has secrets of her own. Slammed takes the reader on a tumultuous, yet humorous journey of life, death, responsibilities and ethics as Layken struggles to find her balance between head and heart.

Colleen,

I am so so so happy for all of your success! You have saved this non fiction woman from, well, non fiction life and all the seriousness it entails and gave me something more! Please do not play Nickelback at my funeral. I hope your summer has been wonderful and,no pressure (yeah right, as i am expecting you to live off of Starbucks quad expressos and finish Will’s Story) but I adore your writing! Kudos my friend!
